IN MEMORIAM: Betty Brownrigg, 76;
Worked 25 Years For NYCM Insurance
BURLINGTON FLATS – Elizabeth Mae “Betty” Brownrigg, 76, a no-fault litigation associate at NYCM for many years, passed away on Saturday May 12, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at the home of her daughter in Cobleskill.
Elizabeth was born on Feb. 1, 1942, in Passaic, N.J., the daughter of the late Edmund and Ora Gould Busch.
Elizabeth was a lifetime resident of the area after graduating from New Berlin Central School. She married Percy Brownrigg on Jan. 19, 1963, in the United Methodist Church in New Berlin, and together they raised their family on the dairy farm they operated until 1983.
Elizabeth was employed at one time with NBT Bank as a teller, and with NYCM in Edmeston as a no-fault litigation associate for over 25 years until her retirement.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and was a faithful Christian remaining active in bible studies for many years. She was an avid Danielle Steele reader, enjoyed crocheting, and at one time attended Burlington Flats Baptist Church.
Elizabeth is survived by her children Scott Percy (Julie) Brownrigg of CO, Joann (Stephen) Pecora of Rochester, Diane Wildey (Joe Catalano) of Cobleskill, Leanne Sue Catlin of Burlington Flats, and Orianne (Fred) Gibser of Pennsylvania; her grandchildren Tina (Cory) Kujawski, Teri Wildey, Mike (Stephanie) Pecora, Matt Pecora, David Gibser, Lucheea Catlin, Kaleb Brownrigg, Conor Brownrigg, Logan Brownrigg, and Patrick (Kelly) Gibser, great-grandchildren Madison Kujawski, Aubriella Carpenter, Scarlette Carpenter, Mackenzie Kujawski, Katie Kujawski, and Kristin Robinson, sisters Aleta Dunham of South New Berlin, Anita (Barry) Taft of Rochester, and Janet (Ralph) Griffiths of Leonardsville.
In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband Percy, and her grand-daughter Gabrielle Hughes-Gibser.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at Delker & Terry Funeral Home, 30 South St., Edmeston with Pastor Andy Johnson of the Second Baptist Church of Edmeston officiating. Interment will be in Burlington Flats Cemetery.
