Polls Open In County At Noon
For GOP, Democrat Primaries
Sheriff, 2 Assembly. Statewide Nominations On Ballot
Polls will be open from noon to 9 p.m. today around Otsego County to decide who will be the standard-bearer in three local races, plus three statewide offices.
Locally:
• Republicans will choose between incumbent Sheriff Richard J. Devlin Jr. of Milford and Bob Fernandez, the retired state trooper from Otego.
• In the 122nd Assembly District, which includes the Otsego towns of Unadilla, Butternuts and Morris, Republican votes may choose between Nick Libous of Deposit, son of the late state Sen. Tom Libous of Binghamton incumbent Assemblyman Cliff Crouch of Bainbridge.
• In the 121st Assembly District, Democrats can choose between Bill Magee of Nelson and Dan Buttermann, the Oneonta school board member. The 121st includes most of the center of the county, from Richfield Springs through Cooperstown to Oneonta.
Democrats will also have a chance to vote in statewide contests for governor (Andrew Cuomo vs. Cynthia Nixon), lieutenant governor (Kathy Hochul vs. Jumaane Williams) and attorney general (Barbara Underwood, Sean Patrick Maloney, Zephyr Teachout and Leecia Eve.)
