IN MEMORIAM: Steven F. Koberlein, 39;
Unadilla Man Fought Battle Against Cancer
UNADILLA – Steven F. Koberlein, 39, knowns to friends and family as the “Big Dog”, passed away on Oct. 13, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A Unadilla native, he was born June 26, 1979, in Sidney to George and Barbara (Bell) Koberlein. He was a 1998 graduate of the Unatego Junior/Senior High School. For the last 17 years he was employed by Amphenol Aerospace in Sidney.
He lived a rich and endearing life by these tenets: Behave humbly. Give Generously. Dress modestly. Love Sincerely.
Steve will be forever remembered by his parents George and Barbara Koberlein, sister Krista Koberlein, twin brother Kristopher and his wife Jessica Koberlein and their children, Trent, Ariana, and Brynn; several aunts: Georgia Bell-Coddington (Garth), Elizabeth Materazzo (Kelly Bartosh) and Lori Bell (Steve); an uncle, Frank Bell (Sharon) and many cousins. In addition, he is survived by a special friend in life in Kia Marisco. Likewise, he will be remembered fondly by many family, friends, and colleagues for his ability to keep it simple; the way living was meant to be.
He was predeceased by his grandparents George and Elizabeth Bell. In addition he was predeceased by a long-time friend and neighbor, Richard “Dick” Cooke.
Family and friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Internment will be at a later date for family.
