Democrats Form 2 Committees,

For Cooperstown, Town Of Otsego

COOPERSTOWN – For the first time in years, the village has a Democratic committee, as does the Town of Otsego, according to Richard Sternberg, the state committeeman.

The committees were organized Wednesday evening, and consist of four local members of the county committee: Sternberg, chairman; Jim Dean, secretary; and Melinda Hardin and Mac Benton, the former chair of the county’s Young Democrats.

Village Trustee Jeanne Dewey and former trustee Lynn Mebust will round out the village committee; Dr. Chris Kohljede will join the town committee, said Sternberg.

“We are looking for other active Democrats,” said Sternberg, who is also a village trustee and intending to run for another term next March.
