Magee: ‘People’s Business’ Top Priority
NELSON – In response to GOP County Chair Vince Casale’s challenge, Assemblyman Bill Magee, D-Nelson, said the Assembly’s business takes precedence over Sheldon Silver’s troubles right now.
“My Number One thing is to get the Assembly back on the track, so we can do the people’s business,” said Magee, who is resting at home after a medical emergency last Thursday.
In particular, the veteran assemblyman said, getting a budget completed on time should be the lower chamber’s priority.
Casale issue a statement this morning asking Magee to declare where he believes Assembly Speaker Silver should step down after being indicted on bribery and other counts last week.
