Don’t Let Sun Fool You:

Winter Storm Is Coming

The sunny day in Cooperstown – with the Lake Front Hotel’s lighthouse in the foreground and the famous Sleeping Lion in the background – was deceptive: By 1 a.m. Tuesday, eight hours from now, 1 inch per hour of heavy snow is expected to be falling on Otsego County, with a total accumulation of 6-10 inches before it’s over, by day’s end. Snow emergencies are being declared in Oneonta and Cooperstown, and Bassett Hospital is again on a storm footing. “Travel could be very difficult,” the National Weather Forecast Station at Binghamton reports. Very godl to even dangerously cold wind chills are expected,” beginning tonight and continuing through Thursday evening. Tuesday evening, with winds up to 10 mph, temperatures are expected to drop to 3. (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
