Kevin P. Crosby, 51;

Worked For Social Services

SCHENEVUS – Kevin P. Crosby, 51, an avid sports fan who worked for the Department of Social Services, passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019 at his residence.

He was born on Nov. 12, 1967 in Oneonta; the son of Kenneth and Virginia (Baker) Crosby.  Kevin grew up in the Village of Laurens and graduated from Laurens Central School.

He obtained an Associates of Applied Sciences in Electronics Technology, an area in which he had a natural excellence. He worked for several years for the United States Postal Service Remote Encoding Center and in the Housing Department for Aids Community Resources in Syracuse and for Otsego County Department of Social Services.

Kevin was an avid sports fan, following the NY Yankees, Syracuse University football and basketball, and especially the NY Giants. He loved older music, such as the Beatles, the Doors, Boston and Genesis.  His quick whit and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his father and mother, Kenneth and Virginia Crosby of Schenevus, his siblings, Mark Crosby and his wife Karen of Garrattsville, Matthew Crosby and his wife Carolyn of Laurens and Grace Bellamy and her husband Jason of Poughkeepsie, his ex-wife, Julie Crosby of Syracuse and his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Calling hours will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb 3 at the the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Fred Johnson, officiating.

Burial will take place at the Elm Row Cemetery in Laurens at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in loving memory of Kevin to the Catskill Area Hospice, 297 River Street Service Road, Oneonta, NY 13820.
