Ad Hoc Committee:  Going It Alone

Cheaper Now, But Not Long Term

ONEONTA – An ad hoc committee of three local citizens — former interim Oneonta School Superintendent Dave Rowley, former DEC Commissioner Mike Zagata and Roger France, retired state Department of Health Engineer — have completed a study of the town and city of Oneonta’s water supply options and reached this conclusion:

Shortterm, the Town of Oneonta would save money by building its own water treatment plant at Fortin Park, but, longer term, a unified two-municipality organization would better serve Greater Oneonta.
