Highlights From The 150th

Anniversary of Milford Trains

MILFORD – The Cooperstown-Charlotte Valley Railroad celebrates 150 years with two days of train rides, talks, ice cream, music and more Saturday – Sunday, July 13-14.

  • 9 -11 a.m. Special Postal Cancellation by Milford Postmaster Judy Kessler @ Milford Depot
  • 10 – 11:30 a.m.: Steam powered Train Ride W. Big Hook Demo to Milepost 6 ($30/adult, $28/seniors, $25/kids, under 3 free)
  • 10 a.m. – Noon: Dixieland Band performs (tent in front of Milford Depot)
  • Noon – 1 p.m.: Formal Ceremony/Speeches w/ Gold Spike Ceremony (tent in front of Milford Dept)
  • 1 p.m – 4:30 p.m. Sesquicentennial Express train ride, with church bells and cannon shoot.
  • 4 p.m. Ice Cream Social begins @ Milford Historical Society, 77 North Main St., Milford
  • 4:30 p.m. arrives back to Milford
  • 5 p.m. Presentation on Railway Postal Service by Milford Postmaster Judy Kessler, Milford Historical Society (free)
  • 6 p.m. Presentation on history of Cooperstown Charlotte Valley Railroad by LRHS Historian and Founder Jim Loudon.
  • 7 – 10 p.m. Cooperstown Blues Express Train featuring Tas Cru
  • 9 p.m. Fireworks in Milford Park
  • 9 – 10 p.m. Night Photo Session w/ Steam Locomotive @ Milford Depot (free)
