Chair: Animal Shelter Won’t Get $100,000 From County This Year HARTWICK SEMINARY – The Susquehanna Animal Shelter is asking Otsego County for $100,000 to help fund its operations. The organization, formerly known as Susquehanna SPCA, made an appeal Tuesday to the Health and Education committee, according to Chair Janet Hurley Quackenbush, R-Town of Oneonta. The committee took no action on the funding request but did invite the organization to try again in the early stages of the 2017 budget process.…

86-Year-Old Motorcylist Dies Near Schuyler Lake SCHUYLER LAKE – State Police at Richfield Springs reported yesterday they are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash in the Town of Exeter at 4:30 p.m. Monday. An investigation determined that Herbert L. Black, 86, of Remsen, was operating his 1998 Honda Valkyrie motorcycle northbound on Route 28 when he entered a curve in the roadway.
