$3,000 Behind 2017
With two weeks left, Otsego County’s Salvation Army 2018 Red Kettle Campaign has raised $24,411 of the $57,000 goal.
The drive is running about $3,000 behind last year at this time, according to Maj. Sharon Harford, commander of the Oneonta post.
All funds raised in this campaign provides Christmas assistance, but also helps the Army provided assistance year-’round to county residents throughout the year. “The Salvation Army provides food, clothing and other types of emergency assistance in this community,” she said.
Major Harford thanks the Oneonta Community for their generosity this season and urges everyone to please remember to contribute to the kettles in various locations. Bell Ringers can be found at Walmart, Southside Mall, and Price Chopper in Oneonta, Cooperstown and Sidney.
“Volunteer Bell Ringers are also needed to help us in filling all our Kettle locations. Individuals, Groups and Businesses are welcome to Bell Ring. All they need do is call 432-5960 to sign up. We appreciate any amount of time they can give.”
