Big Crowd, Bowls Aplenty
At Annual Benefit Luncheon
Cooperstown Art Association President Cheryl Wright, flanked by Mary Ann Dietz, left, and Cindy Hill, presides over distribution of the original pottery at today’s annual Empty Bowls Luncheon, underway until 2 p.m. at the Christ Church Hall, 69 Fair St., Cooperstown, to benefit the Cooperstown Food Bank. For $15, participants buy bowls (many created in Smithy Pioneer Gallery pottery classes), then fill them from a selection soups in the nearby hall, where there’s also fellowship aplenty. At left, Margaret Savoie of Cooperstown nears the end of the process: she’s about to sit down with a bowl of tomato soup. (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
