BROOKFIELD COUPLE
KILLED IN ACCIDENT
Van Driver, Plus Cooperstown Man,
Transported To Bassett With Injuries
WARREN – A Brookfield couple was pronounced dead at the scene of a three-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon after the motorcycle they were riding on ran into the back of a van, state police at Troop D, Oneida, report.
Killed were Douglas and Theresa Woolsey, 50 and 46 respectively.
The eastbound van was stopped on Route 20, attempting to turn left into a driveway in this hamlet, when the collision occurred.
The van’s driver, Jonathan A. Neitzey, 23, of Bowie, Md., was transported to Bassett Hospital with minor injuries.
The Woolseys’ motorcycle was towing a trailer, and the force of the collision pushed Neitzey’s van into the westbound lane, where it struck a westbound Jeep operated by Bruce H. Vanbrink, Cooperstown, which went off the road and overturned. He was also treated at Bassett for what troopers described as non-life-threating injuries.
Richfield Springs firefighters and emergency personnel responded to the scene.
So sorry for the families of the deceased, & for the van driver. The other guy? Nope.
why wouldn’t you be sorry for the other guy? he was just driving along and was struck by the van AFTER the motorcycle hit the van.
