Conservative Party Backs Butler
For Hartwick Town Supervisor
HARTWICK – The state Conservative Party executive committee, meeting in New York City today, endorsed incumbent David Butler for Hartwick town supervisor.
That sets up a three-way general election on Nov. 3, with Bob O’Brien as the Republican nominee, Juli Sharratt as the Democrat, and Butler on the Conservative and Hartwick Pride lines.
All three primaries were tied Sept. 17 when absentee ballots were counted. The GOP town committee chose O’Brien; the Democratic county committee Sharratt, but it took the Conservative Party’s state committee to give the ruling.
Tonight, Butler said he plans to give the race “my best shot; that’s all I can do.” He said he plans to run “on my record. I think I’ve done a good job for the town. It’s financially better than it was. Things have been planned out and properly done.”
