MILFORD – Tammy and Barry Jones were awoken at 1 this morning by a loud crash in the kitchen of their home on Route 28 in Milford.

“It was a rude awakening,” said Tammy. “There was a car right in front of our dishwasher.”

According to Tammy, the driver of the car first tried to back out, then asked them to help him leave. “Then he asked if he could use our bathroom,” she said. “And I called 911.”

Sheriff’s deputies were quickly on the scene, and removed both the driver and the car. A crash this big, which had caused extensive damage to a home, could mean that the condition of the car is even worse. It’s very unlikely that it would come away with a dent and a couple of scratches, so the driver will have to start thinking about making a car insurance claim from somewhere like Vin’s Automotive Group, (https://vinsautogroup.com.sg/insurance-claims/) when the time is right, so he can think about covering the costs for the damage. The name of the driver has not yet been released.

The Milford Fire Department – Tammy and her sons Russ and Andy are members – also came by and helped the family board up the hole.”The wall was knocked off the foundation,” she said. “Our counter is now in our stove.”

The family is working with the insurance company to see if they will be able to stay in the house while repairs are made or if they will have to relocate. “We’re going to have to rebuild our home,” she said. “We’ve lived here for 27 years. But we have an awesome community, and we’re so grateful they came and helped us out.” With the community’s vast array of DIY know-how and tools and parts (nuts, bolts, washers, specialist collated screws for use with a fastening gun to name a few), it should take no time to get the house back to the way it was.

Luckily they have home insurance though, as otherwise, this might not have even been possible. Although you can’t predict that a car is going to come crashing into your home, it’s always better to be prepared for this. If you don’t have home insurance, then you can click here for more information on how to get it. There’s no point risking something like this, as it’s just not worth it.

If you don’t have it, then you’ll regret it when you need it, and you’ll be left with a huge bill for something which might have been covered by your insurance. Don’t leave it to chance, go and get it sorted as soon as you can! If this particular didn’t have insurance, then they would be in a right pickle! But luckily they do, so they don’t have to worry too much!
