In Memoriam: Sylvester C. Lloyd III

ONEONTA—Sylvester C. Lloyd III passed away March 10, 2024 at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford.
He was born August 29, 1935 in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, the son of Sylvester C. Lloyd Jr. and Marion (Van Brakle) Lloyd.
Sy grew up in New Jersey and, in 1946, his family moved to Otego. In 1954, he graduated from Otego High School as a valedictorian. Following high school, he joined the United States Army from 1954 to 1957, serving in Ethiopia…

Museum Seeks Stories of Woodstock, 1960s

The goal of this event is to collect and preserve stories which will be archived by the museum for later use. The museum is currently digging into stories surrounding camping experiences at Woodstock, but officials are open to hearing anything related to the festival, as well as the experiences of those who participated in other major events during the 1960s.…
