IN MEMORIAM: Claudia H. LeoGrande, 68;

Cat Lover Collected Boyd & Barrington Bears

ONEONTA – Claudia H. LeoGrande, 68, of Oneonta, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, at Bassett Hospital.

She was born on May 24, 1951, in Providence, R.I., the daughter of Gordon and Carole (Bougourd) Aldrich.
She married John A. LeoGrande on Jan. 4, 1975.

Claudia was a lifelong cat lover. She also collected Boyd & Barrington Bears and miniature oil lamps.

Claudia is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Jackie Whispell and son, Christopher LeoGrande. She is additionally survived by her grandchildren, Marysa LeoGrande, Synthia Knapp and Harry Whispell; sister, Carla Garvey; mother-in-law, Mary LeoGrande; sisters-in-law, Sandra (Pat) Welsh, Anne Speranzi and Diane (Frank) Russo; cousin, Charlotte (Skip) Brockway; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Jessie.

She was predeceased by her parents; and father-in-law, Anthony “Tony” LeoGrande.

Graveside committal services will take place at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 16, in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, with the Rev. Paul Messner officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Claudia’s memory are asked to be made to the Susquehanna SPCA, 4841 NY-28, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
