CNY Tourism Region’s ‘Brew Central’
Wins U.S. Destination Council Award
UTICA – The U.S. Travel Association Destinations Council has recognized the Central New York Vacation Region’s Brew Central initiative as the best “Branding and Integrated Marketing Campaign” in the country for its budget range.
Brew Central took home the Destiny Award in the under $1 million budget category at the U.S. Travel Association’s annual conference in Louisville, Ky. The Destination Marketing Corp. of Otsego County is part of the initiative.
Launched last year, Brew Central targets travelers interested in beer, hard cider, craft pubs and spirits via the website, Facebook, Twitter, online video and advertising created and managed by ABC Creative Group of Syracuse. The campaign highlights more than 50 breweries, cideries, pubs, distilleries and wineries located in Broome, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Otsego and Schoharie counties.
“I was thrilled and honored to accept the Destiny Award on behalf of the six counties involved in the Brew Central campaign,” said Kelly Blazosky, chair of the region. “This brings national recognition to the region, further sharing the many stories and great travel experiences Central New York has to offer.”
The U.S. Travel Association is the national, nonprofit organization representing all components of the travel industry. The Destiny Awards recognize members for excellence and creative accomplishment in destination marketing and promotion at the local and regional level. A total of 11 Destiny Awards were announced Aug. 23.
