Erica Jong Will Headline

Sharon Springs Poetry Fest

Erica Jong will appear Friday and Saturday in Sharon Springs.

SHARON SPRINGS – Erica Jong, who became prominent for her 1973 novel, “Fear of Flying,” and novel attitudes toward female sexuality, is among the headliners at this week’s third annual Sharon Springs Poetry Festival Friday-Saturday, Oct. 18-19, at the Linkhart Hall Arts Center.

Jong will first appear at 7 p.m. Friday, at readings by all the participating poets in the Sharon Springs Central School Auditorium.

At 5 p.m. on Saturday is “Erica Jong in Conversation with Jean Hanff Korelitz,” described as an “intimate talk” that will explore “the author’s process and inspiration.”

Other headliners include California-based poet Ellen Bass, award-winning poet and Princeton professor Michael Dickman, and Paul Muldoon, festival founder and parttime Sharon Springs’ resident.
