Larry Hoffman browses through the shelves of books at Oneonta’s Rose & Laurel Bookstore, where today all the books are free for the taking. For 40 years Rose & Laurel has been a staple storefront in the downtown, but closed its doors at 273 Main St. Joe Mish, who currently runs the store, is moving the business down the street to the Shops at Ford and Main under the new name, Old Books. The space is smaller, so all the books he can’t take he is giving away. Book lovers can find titles from all genres from the 1800s to current. So, stop in and find a new favorite, and old classic, of a forgotten treasure. The free book event goes until 2pm today. (Ian Austin/AllOTSEGO.com)
