First Of 4 Murals Unveiled

On History Center Exterior

At 6 this evening, artist Carol Mandigo unveils the first of four murals planned on the Dietz Street wall of the Oneonta History Center, depicting the tenants who have occupied the downtown's first brick commercial block in the past century and a half. She collaborated with muralist Frank Anthony of Hamden. This mural depicts Galinns Jewelry, the last tenant. At 6 this evening, artist Carol Mandigo unveiled, “Galinns,” the first of four murals planned on the Dietz Street wall of the Oneonta History Center, depicting the tenants  that have occupied the downtown’s first brick commercial block in the past century and a half. She collaborated with muralist Frank Anthony of Hamden. This mural depicts Galinns Jewelry, the last tenant. Riverside Students Plant Apple Trees, Help Restore Piece of Oneonta History ONEONTA On Friday, April 28, the City of Oneonta planted an apple orchard on the Swart-Wilcox House Museum property with the help of Riverside Elementary School students. The planting was made possible thanks to funds obtained by City Community Development Director Judy Pangman through a special “Tree Planting in Disadvantaged Communities after Ash Tree Loss” grant.
