For 1st Time, Out-Of-District Students
Can Enroll At CCS, Pay $7,500 Tuition
COOPERSTOWN – Citing increased demand in recent years, Cooperstown Central School for the first time will allow students who live outside the school district to enroll and pay tuition.
The change in policy was adopted Wednesday night at the Board of Education’s regular monthly meeting. The policy sets a tuition rate of $7,500 for out-of-district residents. The district has received inquiries about out-of-district enrollment for the past several years and more interest was expressed this spring.
“The district has been purposefully augmenting academic rigor and programming over the past several years,” said Superintendent C.J. Hebert. “We feel that we are in a position to offer these opportunities to interested families and students outside district boundaries.”
Examples of some of the expanded programming CCS now offers includes such STEM coursework as Robotics, Electricity, Principles of Engineering; a number of college courses through Herkimer Community College; and a variety of AP courses.
