Frank Siwiec, 89

ONEONTA – Frank Siwiec passed away peacefully on Jan. 24, 2021, at The Plains, Oneonta.
He was born Sept. 2, 1931, in Glen Cove, Long Island, the son of Frank and Viola Siwiec.
He is survived by seven children and their spouses, Steven Siwiec (Elizabeth) of Denmark, Susan Biederman (David) of Florida, Stacie Ambrose (John) of Virginia, Lesley Bidwell (Philip) of Laurens, Michael Stich of Florida, Kevin Stich (Christy) of Texas, Kristoffer Beilby (Danyelle) of Endicott; 19 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Gary Frey (Marie).
Frank was a United States Marine sergeant during the Korean War.
He attended Adelphi College from 1953 to 1957 and got a degree in Bachelor of Arts. He worked 35 years and retired from the State of New York. He was an employment manager and retired in 1989.
He moved to Richmondville and lived there with his first wife, Ingrid, for 10 years. She predeceased him in the year 2000 and he then moved to Oneonta. In 2002, he married Judith Beilby of Richmondville. After 15 years they moved to a Patio Home in The Plains.
He was a jovial person, always telling jokes and stories to the grandchildren.
He was a 3-G man – his hobbies were gaming, gardening and golf. He was an avid golfer and made many friends on the golf course. As a recent pastime, he took up writing books. He currently has 3 novels on Amazon: “Trick or Treat,” “Profit or Punishment” and “Silver Spurs.”
After retirement he and Judy traveled to Europe and throughout the United States, this he enjoyed greatly. He will be missed by all.
A graveside service will take place at a later date at the Veterans’ Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY.
