Giving Away 4,000 Bulbs

Phyllis Gunther, left, and Laurie Zimniewicz sort and package 4,000 daffodil bulbs as part of the Oneonta Garden Club’s second annual daffodil giveaway at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Oneonta Farmers Market. A grant from the Future for Oneonta Foundation allowed them to buy the bulbs and give them away for free in bags of 25 each in hopes of beautifying Oneonta with flowers. But get there early; last year, all 3,000 bulbs were gone in less than two hours.  (Ian Austin/AllOTSEGO.com)
