WORCESTER – A 44-year-old Worcester man was arrested after Otsego County deputies responded to a tip that he had an unregistered handgun and was growing marijuana in his residence.

Joseph C. Dibenedetto, 44, was arrested after deputies, including K9 Ricky and members of the sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division and Road Patrol,  served a warrant at his home on Lutheranville Road in Worcester.

Inside, deputies reported finding a 15-plant indoor marijuana-growing operation, an unregistered .380-caliber pistol, ammunition, dried marijuana, controlled prescription medications, LSD, concentrated cannabis, including marijuana wax and hash, and an electronic scale.

Dibenedetto was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, seventh degree, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Unlawfully Growing Cannabis and Controlled Substance Outside of the Original Container. He is schedule to appear the Town of Worcester Court on March 28.
