FINAL-FOUR SPOT
ENDWELL – En route to the state tournament, the CCS Hawkeyes baseball team defeated Elmira’s Thomas Edison High School, 5-2, at Maine-Endwell this afternoon. The Section III, Class C champs now head to the final four.
A two-run homer in the sixth on a hit by Reilly Hall tied the game. Ben Tafuro’s single in the seventh brought Brandon Hage home, bringing the score to 3-2. Two bases-loaded walks ended the game, according to the Elmira Star Gazette.
The Hawkeyes will play next at 3 p.m. Friday at NYSEG Arena in Binghamton. The winner of that game will play at 10 a.m. Saturday at Binghamton University for the state title. (These dates are correct; disregard earlier dates)
