OTEGO – An Otego man was arrested after he allegedly threatened a man with an axe in his garage, then broke the taillight of his car.

James M. Jordan, 62, was arrested after troopers responded to a report of a fight at a home on State Route 7 in the Town of Otego.

An investigation determined Jordan, who is the homeowner, was in a physical dispute with another man while in his garage.  There, Jordan grabbed an axe and threatened the other man with it, and when they left the garage, Jordan smashed the taillight on the man’s Volkswagen Jetta.  Jordan left the scene but was located nearby and arrested.

He was charged with the misdemeanors of menacing 2nd and criminal mischief 4th and arraigned in the Town of Otego Court. His next court date in the Town of Otego is on Aug. 25.
