IN MEMORIAM: Harmon Hathaway,
Popularizer Of Yoga In This Country
BOVINA –Harmon (Harmony) Hathaway, 78, one of the foremost popularizers of yoga in the U.S. with his former wife Monica Lind Hathaway, passed away Sunday, Dec. 14
He was president of The Foundation for the Study of American Yoga in Bovina, Delaware County, established 45 years ago.
Harmony was a Master of the Physical Body and Teacher to thousands of students. He is the author of “The Hathaway Alignment Sessions”, “101 Just Sitting and Breathing Tweets”, “101 Tweets”: Volume 2.

He was an international guest speaker at various institutions and was curriculum director for the Priscilla Beach Theater School, in Plymouth, Mass., where his book serves as a “how to” manual for the actor-in-training.
His passions were esoteric teachings, numerology, chess, golf, culinary arts, stone building and training athletes.
Harmony leaves behind his beloved wife of 16 years, Brenda Webster Hathaway
(Medicine Woman), twin brother, Augustus Lightheart of the American Yoga Foundation, Tyler Edwards, who became his son, half-brother, Howard Tannenbaum of Queens, half-sister, Lynn Tannenbaum of Florida, his stepchildren, Marla Fellows, and Eric Edwards, his grandchildren, and the many friends and followers, too numerous to mention.
