IN MEMORIAM: John R. Wiedeck, 61, Wells Bridge; Retired Molder
WELLS BRIDGE – John Raymond Wiedeck, 61, of Wells Bridge, a retired molder at Corning in Oneonta, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014.
John was born in Baltimore, Md., on Dec. 9, 1952, son of Delores and Franklin Wiedeck.
He served in the Army in 1972-75, then married the love of his life, Sharon Overton, on July 10, 1975, in Annapolis, Maryland.
John worked very hard so he could retire as soon as possible to enjoy life. He loved Ravens football, and hunting and fishing, especially with sons-in-law Lenny and Curt. John loved his girls; he was surrounded in a house full of them after growing up with three brothers. He shared a special bond with his grandchildren, Pehlyn and Lenohn.
He is survived by his wife and three daughters, Moriah and husband Lenny Ross of Otego, Suzannah and husband Musa Drammeh of Rome, and Theresa and Curtis Underwood of Unadilla.
Also, brothers Franklin and Edward Wiedeck; his sister-in-law, Susan and husband, Gerald Bourgeois; brothers-in-law, Dan and Andrea Overton and Tim and Joanna Overton; grandchildren Pehlyn and Lenohn Ross; niece, Jerianna Bourgeois and her son, Ethan Nisius; nephew Jesse Overton and family, and many step nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be at 3 pm on Saturday, June 14, at the Wiedeck house in Wells Bridge.
