IN MEMORIAM: Kathleen Baker, 69;
Graveside Service For Lover Of Animals

SPRINGFIELD CENTER – A graveside service is planned at 11 a.m. Friday, July 22, for Kathleen Baker, known locally at a lover of animals, who died Dec. 29, 105.
Kathy was born in 1947 in Tottenville on Staten Island, and worked at the Staten Island Zoo in the early 1970s. She was a homemaker her entire life.
She may have been known around her adopted town as “that crazy horse lady”, but she was also known as sister, Mom and Mimi.
She is survived by three children, Trish Casey-Green of Chesterfield, Va., Joseph Casey of Plainfield, N.J., and Charles Wallace of Las Vegas, Nev.; one granddaughter, Arlie DeMeo of Chesterfield, Va.; and her siblings, Lliz Baker Pinelli of Southington, Mass., Thomas Baker of San Diego, Calif., and Mark Baker of Barre, Vt., and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The July 22 service will be at Springfield Cemetery, corner of Route 20 and 80, followed by a gathering from noon to 3 p.m. at Baker’s Beach on Canadarago Lake, Route 28, Richfield Springs, where the family will be happy to reminisce with Kathy’s friends. Her family encourages you to stop by at that time to pay your respects.
