ONEONTA – Kelly Zack-Decker, senior assistant to the president of Hartwick College since 2010, has joined the Otsego County Chamber as vice president/member services, effective Nov. 30.

As a former board member and long-time volunteer, assisting with implementing the Young Entrepreneur Academy, Leadership Otsego, and the Career Fair for High School students, Zack-Decker will be able to “hit the ground running,” said chamber President Barbara Ann Heegan.

“She is well known and respected throughout the community,” said Heegan.

“I have tremendous respect for the Chamber’s accomplishments and look forward to joining the organization’s outstanding team,” added Zack-Decker.

She succeeds Shelly Giagrant, who resigned last month to join Corning and to teach horse-back riding.

Prior to working for Hartwick President Margaret Drugovich, Zack-Decker was at Springbook for seven years. Previously, she had worked for the SUNY Reasearch Foundation Migrant Education programs.  Among other activities, she has been active in the Oneonta Business Women’s Club, Oneonta World of Learning, and the Laurens historical society and town planning board.

She holds a bachelor’s in business from SUNY’s Empire State College, and an associate’s degree from SUNY Cobleskill.
