IN MEMORIAM: Larry Gallup Calling Hours May 11

 FLY CREEK – Larry G. Gallup passed away Friday, April 21, 2017, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester following an extended illness. Beloved husband of Terriann Sammis, he was 64.

The family will be present to receive friends 2-4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, at the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home, 82 Chestnut Street, Cooperstown.

At the conclusion of the visitation, a Service of Remembrance will be offered at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Elsie A. Rhodes, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Cooperstown, officiating.

Immediately following the service, there will be a gathering of family and friends at the Leatherstocking Golf Bar & Grill overlooking Larry’s favorite golf course and Otsego Lake.

In lieu of flowers, Larry’s family suggests that gifts in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech Street, Binghamton, NY  13790.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home, Cooperstown.

Killer Knapp Dies In Prison; Guilty In SUNY Coed’s Death ONEONTA – Ricky Knapp, the man convicted of the 1977 death of SUNY Oneonta student, has died in Mohawk Correctional Facility, according to prison records. Knapp, 66, died March 8, having served 40 years of a 25-to-life sentence for a 1978 manslaughter conviction in the death of 18-year-old Linda Velzy, a SUNY student from Long Island.
