Lentz, Stuligross, Enjem On List Of
Candidates Filing As Independents
COOPERSTOWN – County reps Ed Lentz, New Lisbon, and Kay Stuligross, Oneonta, are among candidates who are filing as independents for the Nov. 3 local elections, according to the county Board of Elections.
Also among those filing are Fran Enjem, the Republican Town of Richfield supervisor who is being challenged for the GOP nomination in the Sept. 10 primary by Town Board member Paul Palumbo.
In Enjem’s case, an independent line would allow him to run in November, whether or not he wins the primary. In the case of Lentz and Stuligross, the independent line might entice some people to vote for them who would be resistant to voting Democratic.
The county Board of Elections began receiving independent petitions Tuesday, and will accept them until Tuesday, Aug. 18.
