After Reading, Carla Hayden Visits Fenimore
Otsego County’s congressman, U.S. Rep. John Faso, R-Kinderhook, top photo, joined Carla Hayden, the 14th Librarian of Congress, this morning in reading to local youngsters at the Village Library of Cooperstown. Ms. Hayden, who was in the village to speak at the Hall of Fame’s annual Baseball Symposium, wanted to visit a local library while here. She read “I Am A Duck” and “Spoon”; then Faso read “A Bear Sat on My Porch.” Hayden, an Obama appointee, then continued on to the Fenimore Museum and its research library, left photo, where she viewed such artifacts as notes made in preparation for President Lincoln’s autopsy. In left photo, Fenimore Director of Collections Christina Milliman and Baseball Hall of Fame Library Director Jim Gates accompanied her on the visit.
