Six Named To RIT Dean’s List

COOPERSTOWN

Virginia Aswad, Cooperstown, a biomedical science major at the Rochester Institute of Technology, was named to the Fall 2018 Dean’s List.
Also on the list were:
• Shane Tang, Cooperstown, computer science program.
• Jessi Falke, Springfield Center, ASL-English interpretation program.
• Adam Kruh, Maryland, electrical engineering program.
• Alexis Slentz, Edmeston, chemistry program.
• Nathaniel Wilcox, Fly Creek, electrical engineering program.

AVASATTHI INTERNS: Rima Avasatthi, Milford, a student at Wilkes University, has won an internship at The Institute for Public and Economic Development.

LEINHART ABROAD: Olivia A. Leinhart, Cooperstown is participating in a St. Lawrence University off-campus study abroad program during the Spring 2019 semester in Bordeaux.

Mom Jasmine, Puppies Find Foster Home In Davenport

Ian Austin/HOMETOWN ONEONTA – Jasmine, who gave birth to a litter of puppies at the Susquehanna SPCA last week, has found a foster home with Jeni Metch and her family. Sons Colton and Wyatt named the puppies – three boys, Cocoa, (pictured) Reese and Ruger, and girl, Ruby. Though Jasmine gave birth to six puppies last Tuesday, two of them died at just a few days old, according to Stacie Haynes, SSPCA executive director, but the four surviving are healthy.

WHEELER ON LIST: Cayla L. Wheeler, Edmeston, a junior graphic design major, has been named to the Fall 2018 President’s List at SUNY Oswego.

James L. Seward, 72, of Milford, New York passed away on July 27, 2024 after a valiant and years-long fight against cancer. He was born on August 11, 1951 to Wes and Vivian Seward of Cliffside, Maryland, and educated in Oneonta public schools, graduating with the OHS class of 1969.…
