Helps Mark 500th Birthday

Presiding Pastor Paul Messner at Oneonta’s  Lutheran Church of The Atonement, gives communion to those who gather this evening the a Chorale Service of Holy Communion, part of the 500th anniversary commemorations of Martin Luther nailing his 95 Theses on the cathedral door at Wittenburg, launching the Protestant Reformation.   The service was mostly in German after the tradition of Luther’s Duetsche Messe. At right, Acolyte Elina Martinez, Oneonta, leads Pastor Paul Messner and Assisting Minister Pastor Amanda Highben out of the sanctuary at the close of the event. (Ian Austin/AllOTSEGO.com)
