IN MEMORIAM:  Marion Hanor, 94;

Spent 40-Year Career At  Bresee’s

Marion Hanor

ONEONTA – Marion A. Hanor, 94, who spent her career at Bresee’s Department Store, passed away Dec. 11, 2017 at Fox Hospital.

She was born July 19, 1923, in Oneonta, the daughter of Arthur and Anna (Yaple) Cole.

Marion graduated from Oneonta High School.  She married Charles John Hanor on Sep. 7, 1940.

Marion worked for Bresee’s for more than 40 years, and enjoyed her working trips to the buyers’ seminars in New York City.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a 62-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by sons, David (Ann Marie) Hanor of Oneonta, Burton (Linda) Hanor of Layton, Utah, Robert Hanor of Newfoundland, Pa., and Norman (Susan) Hanor of Oneonta; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles in February 1958; a son, Stephen C. Hanor and her five  brothers, her parents and her husband’s parents.

A graveside service at the Butternuts Valley Cemetery in Garrattsville will be at a later date.

Donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
