IN MEMORIAM: Mark Morrison, 52;

NJ Native Described As ‘Free Spirit’

Mark J. Morrison

ONEONTA – Mark J. Morrison was born In Forked River, N.J., on Jan. 9, 1964.  He lived in Pennsylvania, Texas and California, finally settling down in Oneonta New York in 2009, according to obituary material submitted by a friend.

Mark passed away unexpectedly early in the morning on Jan. 1., 2017, after an evening surrounded by those he loved. At just “29 years young,” he leaves behind three sibilings, a niece and a nephew in New Jersey, as well as many “adopted” family members from the Oneonta area.

He enjoyed being around fun, free-spirited people and good times. Spending most of his time caring for the people he called family, he frequently held family dinners, game nights and other activities for his “grandchildren.” Mark was the kind of man who always saw the good in people and encouraged them to let it shine.

He was a man with a one-of-a-kind personality and a heart of gold. Mark was an astounding  influence on many lives and will forever be loved and missed by his family and friends. Memories of Mark will live on in the hearts of those who helped create them and stories will be passed down for generations to come.

H e will always be remembered as an entrepreneur, father figure, friend and “pop pop.” His soul will rest in peace and may his spirit never land.
