ONEONTA – Maureen Agnes Gallagher, 63, 22-year Hartwick College mathematics professor and  a life-long Oneonta resident, died on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, after an extended illness.

She was born May 10, 1953, at Fox Hospital, the daughter of John J. and Catherine M. Gallagher.

Maureen was a graduate of Bugbee School and a proud “Bugbee Brat,”  having attended from Junior Kindergarten through ninth grade. She graduated from Oneonta High School with honors in 1971, received a bachelor’s in mathematics from William Smith College in 1975 and a master’s in mathematics from SUNY Oneonta.
