Mel’s proprietor Brian Wrubleski, center, at this hour is treating Irv Frankil, 86, of Voorhees, N.J., and his son Barry, who are in Cooperstown through the Wish of a Lifetime, a national organization that grants wishes to seniors.    Irv intended to visit all the major sports halls of fame over his lifetime; he did make it to the football, basketball and horse racing halls, and Wish of a Lifetime is helping him complete his life-long dream by sending him to Cooperstown.  Sports, Irv said, “kept him sane” in recent years, when both his wife and three of his four children passed away.  He and Barry are staying in the village overnight, and planning to see “everything to do with the Phillies” tomorrow at the Hall.   (Jim Kevlin/allotsego.com)
