ONEONTA – 110 bags of heroin, 22 marijuana plants and nine guns were seized at a Main Street residence yesterday by state troopers and the OPD.

Tadd A. Sherwood, 29, was arrested after the State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, working with city uniformed officers, executed a search warrant at 510 Main St.

Also seized were $343 in currency,  digital drug scales, 22 marijuana plants, approximately 2 grams of marijuana, a marijuana pipe, five shotguns, four rifles, ammunition, three daggers, and lights with inverters and timers used in the cultivation of marijuana.

Two children, ages 5 and four weeks, were living in the home where the drugs were found.

Sherwood was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, third degree; Criminal Possession of a Weapon , fourth degree (weapons possession by convicted felon);  Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Unlawfully Growing Cannabis.

He was arraigned in the Town of Milford Court and remanded to the Otsego County jail without bail.

Welfare Check Leads To Oneonta Heroin Bust ONEONTA – An Oneonta man was arrested and charged with heroin possession Friday night after a neighbor called for a welfare check. Kyle L. Alger, 20, was interviewed by police at his 16 Rose Avenue home after a neighbor called to complain that someone was vomiting outside of Alger’s vehicle.
