Editorial, July 27, 2018 Do We Divert XNG Trucks Now – Or After First Fatality? On the surface, the argument makes sense, (sort of). Boston-based Xpress Natural Gas’ trucks, carrying fuel from fracking fields in Northeastern Pennsylvania across Otsego County to the Iroquois Pipeline near Little Falls, are legal carriers and should be allow to use New York State roads just like any other legal carrier. After all, what’s next? Should we then ban oil tankers? Suburban Propane delivery trucks? Dump trucks, where pebbles might from time to time slip out from under the tarps? Loud motorcycles? Model Ts and…
Too much environmental destruction plus encouraging more fossil fuel minining and use. Our earth needs to act as aggressively as possible to slow global warming!
Pipelines don’t belong in ANYONE’S BACKYARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the so called constitution pipeline is nothing but a profit grab by investors. The only goal by this misnamed company is to get our “natural” (national) gas to Canada so that it can be sent to China. There is nothing constitutional about using eminent domain to steal one property when there is no domestic gain.
Eminent domain is the purview of governments, not private companies.
In addition the loss of nearly a million trees and their retaining green house gases in the midst of impending climate instability is criminal
oil and gas technology should not be subsidized in such a manner, ie the cutting of forests and the use of land
The greedy oil and gas companies have ravaged our country with fracking, pipelines, and compressor stations. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! The negative health effects from these projects put way too many people of all ages at risk.
NO! I do not think this is a good idea at all.
Keep fossil fuels IN THE GROUND so that our grandchildren can live on earth.
Have you thought about how your day would change if there was no oil? Think about it…
