UNADILLA – State Police are seeking the identity of the person responsible for carving out the name on a gravestone in the Evergreen Hill Cemetery here.

One name and part of the date on the Goodrich tombstone appear to have been scratched out with a chisel or a power tool. A member of the family alerted police to the vandalism last week.
