HALL OF FAME INDUCTION 2019

Record Crowd?  This May

Be What Jeter Has To Beat

Induction 2019 is still in progress, but the density of the crowd, top photo, from the top of the ceremonial tent to the top of the hill east of the Clark Sports Center couldn’t be more densely packed; eyeballing it, it also appeared the crowd was wider, from Susquehanna toward the woods to the south. The Hall should be releasing its estimate later today; the number to beat is Ripken/Gwynn in 2007 – 82,000. Next year, Derek Jeter’s induction may at least rival today’s of Mariano Rivera and five others. Lower left, Lanie Nealon of Cooperstown got a good view from atop dad Sean’s shoulders. Lower right, by halfway through Induction, CCS sophomore Kimberly Wick had gotten the hang of flipping water bottlers. Vending with her is classmate Ireland Gable. (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
