The ribbon-cutting was Friday afternoon on Otsego County’s newest hotel – The Rainbow Group’s Holiday Inn Express on 141 Courtyard Drive, Southside Oneonta. Cutting the ribbon, at center, are owners Zahid Chaudrhi and Bilal Amhad, and manager Ashley Camarata. Others, from left, are Assistant G.M. Kenny Bacdayan, Assistant G.M. Gianna Rodriguez, Rainbow Group Director of Operations Mark Mosconi and Regional Director of Sales Alison Crott. Others, from right, are Ed Keplinger of Keplinger Freeman Landscaping, East Syracuse; Brittany Boyke, front desk agent, and Oneonta Town Supervisor Bob Wood. The new hotel’s owner also owns the neighboring Courtyard by Marriott. With 91 rooms, the Holiday Inn is the second-largest hotel in the city, after the Courtyard, with 95. Mosconi said the new hotel is built on Holiday Inn’s Formula Blue Design, which was the prototype for the Express models. A reception, featuring East Indian cuisine, followed.
