IN MEMORIAM: Robert F. Milavec, 82;
Ran Dairy Farm, Tended Large Family
WORCESTER — Robert F. Milavec, 82, a dairyman and family man, passed away at home on Nov. 22, 2019.
He was born Aug. 18, 1937, in Central Bridge, the son of Frank and Mary (Muehl) Milavec.
Bob graduated from Worcester Central School, Class of 1955.
He married Nancy Green on June 3, 1961, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Worcester.
He was a member of the Army Reserves, serving from 1955 to 1963.
Bob and Nancy owned and operated the family dairy farm in Worcester. He was a member of the Otsego County Farm Bureau, Otsego County Cooperative Extension, Town of Worcester Planning Board and the Worcester Men’s Bowling League.
He loved to read, enjoyed camping and any gathering of his family. For many years, he was the primary support for his granddaughter, Melissa. Above all, his family meant the world to him.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Worcester; his daughter, Lauren and Gregg Horhota; his son, Jeffrey Milavec and Mira Djurdjevich; grandchildren Marian, Melissa, Maci, Malina, Garett, Rachel, Allison and Elijah; great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Miles; his siblings, Catherine Rooney, Patricia and Charles Golding, William and Jane Milavec; brother-in-law, Timothy and Barbara Green; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jim and Mary T. Zaengle and family.
He was predeceased by his sister, Mildred Davis; brother-in-law, George M. Rooney and sister-in-law, Barbara Green.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester.
A funeral mass will be held at noon, Wednesday, Nov. 27, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 201 Main St., Worcester, with Fr. Edward Golding as celebrant.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
