IN MEMORIAM: Robert Wade Coffey, 73;
Vet Leaves 30 Grand, Great-Grandchildren
UNADILLA – Robert Wade Coffey, 73, of Unadilla, a Vietnam veteran and heavy-equipment operator, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 23, 1946, son of the late Wade L. Coffey and Evelyn E. Edwards, Town of Maryland.
Robert was a long time over-the-road truck driver, and worked for Frazier’s Landscaping in Oneonta, hauling and operating heavy equipment before retiring several years ago.
Robert’s truck handle was “handyman” which carried over into his everyday life. He was known to help anyone in need.
A Vietnam vet, he served in the Army from 1968 to 1972.
Robert is survived by two daughters, Tara (Donald) Stanton and Rebecca Coffey (Todd Sisson), both of Unadilla; two sons, Robert (Nikki) Coffey, Jr., Masury, Ohio, and Donald Coffey (Sarah Virtell), Oneonta, 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also, sister Joyce Sepulveda, Maryland, two brothers, Wade Coffey, Jr., Maryland, and Mike (Mona) Coffey, Kansas; sister-in-law Donna Dailey and Gary Moore of Harpursville.
He was predeceased by wife, Gloria Coffey, brothers Donald and Dean Coffey, and sister Frances Lovvechio.
Friends may call Friday, May 17, 2019 from 4-6 pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney Funeral services will follow at 6:00PM in the funeral chapel with Rev. Paul Winkleman officiating.
