Groups, Clubs, Individual Welcome To Volunteer
ONEONTA – The Oneonta Salvation Army kicked off its 2018 Red Kettle Campaign today. The campaign will continue through Dec. 24.
The fundraising goal is $57,000, said Maj. Sharon Harford, the local commanding officer. The funds raised will help with Christmas assistance, but also the Army’s 2019 operating budget.
More bellringers are needed to help with the campaign, and groups, clubs, families and individuals are welcome. Call 432-5960 to volunteer.
“We are looking forward to the community’s support and help in our campaign, said Harford.
Bellringers appeared at Southside Mall today, with 20-year veteran Vera Stewart and Robert Glover at the main entrance, and a contingent from Unatego High School at the Penney’s entrance.
Other kettles were also set up at Walmart, and at Price Choppers in Oneonta, Cooperstown and Sidney, as well as the Kmart in Sidney.
