ONEONTA – With two days to go, Otsego County’s Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign needs to raise $17,000 to its annual goal of $60,000.

The red kettles are located at Walmart and Southside Mall, as well as the Price Choppers in Oneonta, Cooperstown and Sidney.

“Our goal is $60,000 for this year and so far we have only raised $43,000,” said Maj. Sharon Harford, the corps officer at Oneonta.  “The funds raised through this campaign help to provide Christmas for local families in need, and also help us to assist our community with needs throughout 2017.”

All donations stay in Oneonta and Otsego County.

“There are only two days left of our fund raising effort, and I am praying that the community will come along side us and help,” said the major.

To volunteer to ring bells or to donate, contact Major Harford at 432-5960.
