Ricky Parisian Scholarship

 In an emotional surprise ceremony in the OHS library this morning, the Parisian Foundations awarded a surprised Sarah Brackett, seen here shaking hands with superintendent Joseph Yelich, as the recipient of this year's Parisian Scholarship. The scholarship is warded annually through a faculty based nomination to an OHS student who exemplifies the qualities of respect, integrity, honesty, responsibility, loyalty, fairness, kindness, true to their word and is a good citizen. In an emotional surprise ceremony in the Oneonta High School library this morning, the Parisian Foundation named Sarah Brackett, seen here shaking hands with Superintendent of Schools Joseph Yelich, as the recipient of this year’s Parisian Scholarship. The scholarship is named for Trooper Ricky Parisian, who died in 1994 trying to stop a robbery at a Southside Oneonta supermarket.   With an honoree chosen annual by OHS faculity, the winner exemplifies the qualities of respect, integrity, honesty, responsibiliy, loyalty, fairness, kindness, integrity and good citizenship.  The award provides $3,000 a year through completion of an undergraduate degree.
